Obituary
Potter- Waneta Hainsworth-Yaw, age 89 passed away peacefully at M.M. Ewing Continuing Care Center on Saturday, May 4, 2024.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, (May 18) at 4 p.m. at the Perkins-Ames Funeral Home in Gorham. A graveside service will be held on Monday (May 20), at 11 a.m. at Nettle Valley Cemetery.
Waneta was born on February 9, 1935, a daughter of the late Floyd and Bertha Ergott Washburn. She was employed at the Rainbow Cove Motel in Himrod for over 30 years. Waneta was a very crafty woman and a talented seamstress who made many prom and wedding dresses over the years. She enjoyed dancing, cooking and gardening. Waneta liked being outdoors in nature and in younger years would go hunting with family. More than anything, Waneta loved her family and spending time with them.
Waneta is survived by her children, Frank Hainsworth, Geraldine (Robert) Ruditis, Jack (Violet) Hainsworth and Wilma (Samuel) Adkins; step-daughter, Kathy (Paul) McMillan; grandchildren, Melanie, Frankie, Jennifer, Janel, Jody, Dyrek, Mark, Matt, Kimberly and Christopher; several great-grandchildren; two sisters, Loretta Hobart and Leona Bush; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Waneta was predeceased by her first husband, Alford “Bud” Hainsworth; second husband, Richard Yaw; granddaughter, Sheri; daughter-in-law, Sue Hainsworth; and a brother, Fred Washburn.
