Wanda B. Carter

Geneva-Wanda B. Carter, age 83, passed away on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Friends and family may call on Thursday, June 12 from 1-2 p.m. at the Perkins-Ames Funeral Home, 2583 East Main St., Gorham. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m. with burial in Bellona Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions in Wanda’s name can be made to the Stanley Hall Gorham Ambulance, P.O. Box 57, Hall, NY 14463.

Wanda was born on October 27, 1941, a daughter of the late Harold Stuart Hurrin and Bessie Whitmore Bower. She was a member of the Bellona Memorial Presbyterian Church. Wanda was a graduate of the Marion Whalen School of Practical Nursing in 1961. She worked for Taylor Brown Hospital in Waterloo, Geneva General Hospital the Penn Yan Manor and the Keuka Comfort Care Home in Penn Yan.

Wanda is survived by her children, Craig (Melissa) Morgan, Scott (Julie) Morgan, Lauri (Todd) Jones and Tracy (Marlin) Carter; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings, Stuart “Lee” (Cathy) Hurrin, JoAnn (Tom) Pease and Elwood “Woody” (Dru) Hurrin; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Wanda was predeceased by her parents and her son, Mark Morgan.
