Robert A. Wilson

Canandaigua- Robert A. Wilson, age 81, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, Dec. 23, 2024.

Friends may call on Saturday, Dec. 28 from 10a.m. until noon at the Perkins-Ames Funeral Home in Gorham. A funeral service will follow calling hours at Noon. Burial will be in Gorham Cemetery.

Bob was born on June 6, 1943 a son of the late Asa and Viola Grace Murphy Wilson. He was an autobody repairman that owned his own shop in Canandaigua and painted all of the police vehicles while in business. Bob enjoyed tinkering in his garage rebuilding engines and bring old mowers back to life. He could often be found at the Proctor offices in Gorham keeping things in order, the unofficial supervisor. Bob loved watching local races and sitting on his porch listening to the race cars in the summer.

Bob is survived by two daughters, Sherri Sangster and Melissa Wilson; three grandchildren, Tarra (Kevin) Morrice, Cody Griffith and Chad Griffith; two great-grandchildren, Titan Morrice and Kellan Morrice; siblings, Phyllis Proctor, Donald (Linda) Wilson, Jack (Mary) Wilson, Sharon Wilson and Pat (Barry Cooper) Wilson.

Bob is predeceased by his parents; son-in-law, Charles Cull; and a brother-in-law, Robert Proctor.
