Richard Charles “Dick” Jones

Stanley- Richard Charles “Dick” Jones, age 83, passed away at his home on Thursday, November 21, 2024.

A Celebration of Dick’s life will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 26 from 2 – 5 p.m. at the Stanley Fire Hall.

Dick was born on October 15, 1941, a son of the late Charles William and Marjorie Kristine Fredericksen Jones. He was employed for over 30 years as a mechanic and truck driver for Howards Express, Inc. in Geneva. Dick loved Semi’s and working on them. He was a member of the Hall Card Club and a lifetime member of both the Stanley Fire Company and the Taberg American Legion, Post 1309.

Dick loved his family and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed repairing things and creating and making new things to make his life easier; he was very clever with his creations. After his retirement, he was known for keeping the “perfect” lawn. Dick had a great memory for roads across the country and could get you anywhere from memory.

Dick is survived by his wife, Carolyn Power Jones; three children, Tracy (Michael) Matt, Dan (Mary Ann) Jones and Dennis (Kristine) Jones; seven grandchildren, Amanda (Ryan) Bryson, Martin Matt, Brandon (Katie) Jones, Bryant (Kristen) Jones, Bradley (Makenzie) Jones, Justin Jones and Ryan (Elyse Anaya) Jones; six great-grandchildren, Nolan Bryson, Addison Jones, Jaxon Jones, Grayson Jones, Hunter Jones and Hope Jones; sister, Nancy (Charles) Whiteman; brother, William Jones; sister-in-law, Harlene (Les) Wilson; brother-in-law, Harold (Lori Hicks) Power as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Dick was predeceased by his parents, Charles and Marjorie Jones and a sister-in-law, Judy Jones.
