Obituary

Penn Yan- Lucy Anne Alexander, age 90, passed away on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.

Private burial will be in Bellona Cemetery.

Lucy was born on January 24, 1935 in Penn Yan to Raymond and Harriet (Jensen) Alexander. Lucy was a wonderful sister, aunt and friend. She loved family, horses, jewelry and watches. Lucy worked at the Seneca ARC in Waterloo while living with Elmer and Louella “Momma” Daeffler. She also lived with the Stonesiffers in Romulus. Lucy thrived when she lived in Savannah with Deb and Bob Wright. She  spent many happy hours at the Newark ARC, learning, crafting, socializing with many fun outings.

Lucy loved coloring and was a master at jigsaw puzzles and “spool knitting”. She had miles of “knitted ropes” that her brother-in-law Sherman “Pest” wanted to borrow to tie up calves. The request was always met with a resounding NOOO!

Lucy is survived by her brothers and sister, William “Lee” Alexander of Florida, James (Darlene) Alexander of Trumansburg and Linda “Priscilla Smith of Colorado; sister-in-law, Penny Alexander of Penn Yan; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Lucy was predeceased by her siblings, May Alexander, Laurine Savage, Ramona “Jeanne” Smith, John Alexander, Alma Miller, Joseph Alexander and Mary “Carolyn” Coon.
