John William Rippel

Middlesex- John William Rippel, age 86, passed away on Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

A celebration of John’s life will be held at a later date. Burial will be in White Haven Memorial Park, with full military honors.

John was born on March 11, 1940, a son of the late John and Elsie (Brundige) Rippel. He proudly served his country in the Marine Corp., from 1959-1963 during which time he served as a paratrooper. John was a carpenter for carpenters union local 85. He was a member of the Manchester Shortsville American Legion. John enjoyed playing golf and baseball. He took pride in his vegetable gardens. John was a jokester, always doing his best to get everyone to laugh. In his spare time, he liked to watch game shows and westerns and drink beer. He loved his family more than anything and especially cherished getting to spend time with his grandchildren.

John is survived by his daughter, Rhondee (Marty) Mosch; son, John (Katherine) Rippel; grandchildren, Keyanna (Logan) Davis, Dakotah Mosch, Carliegh Marie (Caleb), Kaylee Ann May, Noah Daniel, Danielle Leigh, Cameron Rippel, Codi Rippel, Jonathan Rippel, and Marie Nottaway; 6 great-grandchildren and 1 expected in September; brother, Gary Rippel adopted daughter, Jennie Priest and her 2 children; as well as several brothers and sisters-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

John was predeceased by his parents; beloved wife, Shirley; daughter, Tina Marie; brother, Robert Rippel; and his mother-in-law, Shirley Cramer who John considered his second mom.
