Mr. Fladd made the sign that stands in front of the Rushville elementary school It was a project of mine back in 1958. It has been updated as it was originally done for the school K-12. I've always been proud of the school AND the sign. He did a good job!

I'm a writer, living in New Hampshire. I suspect John and I are related - fourth cousins, probably - but every time I do an internet search for some of my work, I get referred to some of John's art and poetry. I'm very proud to have shared a name with him, and he left a heck of a legacy behind. Congratulations on his life, and I'm sorry for the void he's left in your lives. Yours, another John Fladd.

In every conversation, during the past 50 + years, John brought information with a spark of happiness. To us (a little younger) he and Marion were examples of a successful marriage. It was always obvious he loved the community. Our condolences to his family. Carol and Dave Raymond

Dearest Fladd Family,
John Fladd was such a great old time friend to my father, bob Sax. I always felt of him as an Uncle and part of our family. I will remember him for so many fantastic stories, funny jokes, ukulele playing, cherished artwork, catching crayfish, and all the postcards he made for my parents of his and his love’s adventures. What an amazing man. Hugs for you all.
Love, Carol Sax
