Obituary
Middlesex- Helen L. Gebo “Grandma Be-Bop”, age 89, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024 in the comfort of her home.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 2, at 1p.m. at the Gorham Cemetery.
Memorial Contributions in Helen’s name can be made to the Middlesex Valley Volunteer Ambulance, 817 State Route 245, Middlesex, NY 14507.
Helen was born on Nov. 15, 1934, a daughter of the late John H. and Alice I. Maney Weeks. She was a graduate of Gorham Central School, Class of 1953, the Freeman Business School and obtained her Associates Degree from FLCC. Helen was a Dietary Aide at F. F. Thompson Hospital for 10 years and a ward secretary and supply technician at the Canandaigua V.A.M.C. for 26 years. Her granddaughters remember her always wanting them to watch Westerns with her.
Helen is survived by two granddaughters, Caroline Bennett and Alice Newman; seven great-grandchildren, Makayla “Mickey Mouse” Hill, Tyler Bennett, Brianna Bennett, Alicia Newman, Stephanie Newman, Frances Medlin and Hanna Medlin; two great-great-grandsons Benjamin Hatt and Cayman Scott Fulton; grandson-in-law, David Medlin; and her close and loving friends, Jeff East and Margaret Randolph and family.
Helen was predeceased by her parents; a daughter, Pamela Renee Mack and two brothers, James and Kenneth Weeks.

My deepest condolences for the loss of Helen. We worked together and had a lot of fun conversations together. Knowing my fondness for sloths, Helen has one of her granddaughters write a report on sloths and brought it in for me to read. She loved her family very much! I know she'll be deeply missed.
