Obituary
Gorham- Ann Motz, age 81, went Home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 20, 2024.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday (June 1st) at the Bethel Baptist Church in Gorham, NY.
Burial will be in Gorham Cemetery.

Ann was born Helen Ann Welker on August 3, 1942 to the late Donald and Helen Spink Welker. She graduated from Attica Central School in 1960. On Sept. 30, 1961 she married John C. “Jack” Motz. Ann and Jack moved to the Gorham area in 1960’s.
Ann drove school bus for Marcus Whitman Central School for 25 years. Then she became a trainer of new bus drivers until her retirement.
Ann was a member of the Gorham Bethel Baptist Church. She was a Sunday School Teacher for many years, and active in the Ladies’ Missionary Society. Ann was also a member of the Gorham Historical Society and the Lake-to-Lake Quilt Guild.
Ann was a weekly volunteer at Le Tourneau Christian Center. She was an accomplished seamstress, who made many of her children’s and grandchildren’s clothing, and was a prize-winning quilter. She had a “green thumb’ and enjoyed gardening. Ann mowed the church lawn and planted and maintained their flower bed for many years.
Ann loved spending time with her grandchildren. She and Jack had a cottage on Canandaigua Lake, where their grandchildren spent their summers. The family continues to enjoy time at the lake together.
Ann is survived by her husband, Jack Motz; son, David (Patty) Motz; daughter, Patti (David) Johnston; 7 grandchildren, Darin (Rosemary Motz, Brian Motz, Molly (Kurt) Soppe, Brett (Taylor) Curtis, Megan (Adam) Scott, Kevin Johnston and Kyle Johnston; 9 great-grandchildren; and 1 sister, Sue (Charles) Ann; sisters-in-law, Yvonne Welker, Joann Welker and Judy (Brad) Page; brother-in-law, Ron LeVine; and many nieces and nephews.
Ann was predeceased by her daughter, Kathy A. Motz Curtis in 2005; and by her parents, 2 brothers and 2 sisters; and 1 brother-in-law.
