Fernand A. Lavoie

Rochester/Rushville- Fernand A. Lavoie, age 83, passed away on Wednesday, February 26, 2025.

Friends may call on Friday, March 7 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Perkins-Ames Funeral Home, 2583 East Main St., Gorham, NY. Burial will follow calling hours in Lakeview Cemetery, Jones Rd., Rushville, NY.

Fernand “Frenchie” was born on December 31, 1941, a son of the late Hermas and Mary Lavoie. He was born in Quebec Canada and immigrated to the United States when he was 11 years old.  The family purchased a farm in Chateaugay, NY where Fernand lived until he came to Rochester NY at age 19.  His first job was at Fannie Farmer Candies.

Fernand is survived by his former wife Cheryl Lavoie (Rodger) and their sons, Dan Lavoie and Gabe (Lisa Hamlin) Lavoie; grandson Hunter Lavoie; siblings, Benoit (Sharon) Lavoie, Jille (Maria) Lavoie, Clem (Marilyn) Lavoie, Bobby (Barb) Lavoie and Hugette (Terry) Baker; many friends; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Fernand was predeceased by his parents, Hermas and Mary Lavoie and siblings, Dennis Lavoie, Yvonne Lavoie and Raymond Lavoie.
