Obituary
Rushville- Douglas Francis DeMitry, age 66, passed away at his home on Friday, January 3, 2025 after a brief battle with A.L.S.
Honoring Doug’s wishes, services will be private.

Doug was born on April 7, 1958 in Rochester to the late Herbert Eugene and Delores Derleth DeMitry. He was a graduate of Victor High School. Doug’s jobs took him and his family around the United States. They spent 16 years in North Carolina and several years in Arizona before returning home to Rushville in April of 2024. Doug enjoyed fishing, especially in Chippewa Bay, where his family has returned to the same location every year for over 50 years to fish together. He loved listening to music, especially classic rock and the blues.
Doug is survived by his wife, Anita Moore DeMitry; son, Kyle (Angela) DeMitry; grandchildren, Connor (age 16), Cole (age 14), Callahan (age 13) and Isabella (age 9); close family friend, Matt (Nicole) Jones; siblings, David (Cathy) DeMitry, Tom (Shelby) DeMitry and Cathy (Rich) Mathis; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Doug was predeceased by his parents; siblings, Charles DeMitry and Carol DeBellis.
