Obituary

Peggy Lou Noland Lipinski

Beloved wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, Peggy Lou Noland Lipinski, 85, of Canandaigua, NY passed away on March 12, 2020.

In light of the current world health situation, a Celebration of Peggy’s life will be held as soon as it is safely possible.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Memorial Garden (Lipinski), FFT Senior Communities, 1 Ferris Hills, Canandaigua, NY 14424.

Born July 14, 1934 in Kokomo, Indiana, Peggy enjoyed an incredibly full and exciting life alongside her beloved (late) husband, Dwayne, for more than 60 years. The family they raised together was their greatest joy and triumph. Peggy also cherished the love and affection of many dear friends.

After graduating from Kokomo High School, she earned her BS in Home Economics (Food and Business Major) from Purdue University, Indiana 1956, and married the love of her life that September. They relocated to Valley Falls, NY in 1958, and that same year Peggy did post graduate studies at Siena College, NY.

Peggy had a thirst for knowledge and a passion for sharing. She was a pioneer in many ways and blazed the trail of balancing a professional career with raising a family, at a time when very few women were pursuing this path. Her careers included Home Economics Teacher, NYS Extension Service 4-H Agent, TV guest appearances in Albany, NY on Channel 10 as an expert in family and women matters, Adult Education Teacher, Consultant to NY Association of Agricultural Fairs, Entrepreneur and Business Owner (Events Unlimited). She held numerous volunteer and leadership positions within her communities.

It is amazing to realize that Peggy did all this while raising 4 children, managing a household, supporting her husband, and enjoying the company of close friends. She was deliberate in her pursuit of squeezing everything out of life and she always found a way, regardless of the roadblocks she encountered. Most recently, when she was dealt the sorrow of loss, she realigned her life and embraced a new path, made new friends and explored new experiences.

But there is no question that Peggy’s most treasured time was spent with family and friends. Her children, their families, her grandchildren and her great grandchildren were always her greatest joys and most focused priorities. She realized quickly that in order to keep in touch with these young generations she needed to learn new skills and pursue new avenues. She became adept with email, texting, Facebook, and Facetime. She made it her mission to know and actively love her grandchildren, their spouses and their children. Her focus shifted to loving and supporting these blessings and sharing her life with them and their life with hers.

Peggy packed her 85 years full of laughter, joy, wisdom, and proud moments. She was strong and focused, yet caring and gracious. Above all, the years she spent on her life journey with Dwayne and their family were her most treasured times.

Peggy is survived by the loving family she raised together with her late husband, Dwayne: son, Bill Lipinski (Alicia), grandchildren Abby (Jay), Dwayne (Teal), Steven (Libby), and Emily; daughter Tanya Lipinski (Peter Averell), grandchildren Sean (Bianca), Kirk (Miles), Maegan, Lea; daughter Melanie Wickham (Drew), grandchildren Samantha (Mark), Tim (Shannon), Ben (Jess), and Dan (Cortni); daughter Stephanie Abrahamson (Dan), grandchildren Riley, Nolan, and Reese; great grandchildren Kyle, Mallory, Colleen, Will, Evelyn, Tucker, Charlie, Gregg, Jachin, Deacon, Andy, Gabe, and Ethan.
