Eleanor Florence Craig

Gorham- Eleanor Florence Craig, age 95, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 10, 2026.

Friends may call on Saturday, June 6, from noon until 2 p.m. at the Perkins-Ames Funeral Home in Gorham. A memorial service will follow at 2 p.m.  at the funeral home. Burial will be in Shuman Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions in Eleanor’s name can be made to the Stanley Fire Department, P.O. Box 487, Stanley, NY 14561, or to the Middlesex Valley Volunteer Ambulance, 817 State Route 245, Middlesex, NY 14507 or to M.M. Ewing Memory Care Unit, 350 Parrish St., Canandaigua, NY 14424.    

Eleanor was born on September 28, 1930, a daughter of the late Arthur and Leah (Hinckley) DeCann. She was a graduate of Phelps Central School. Eleanor worked for the Marcus Whitman School District in the cafeteria. She was a member of the Stanley Fire Company Auxiliary. Eleanor enjoyed dancing, baking, canning and going for coffee at Smuggler’s in Potter.

Eleanor is survived by her son, Richard (Deborah) Craig; grandchildren, Michael (Tisha) Putman, Michelle (Chris) Livermore, James (Maggie) Craig, Sean (Gina) Putman, Nichole (Daryl) Yothers, Jennifer Craig, Brianne Craig, Leanne (Karl) Parsell; 16 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Ruth Craig; son-in-law, Gary Putman; as well as nieces and nephews.

Eleanor was predeceased by her parents; beloved husband, Charles Craig; two children, Nancy Putman and Ronald Craig; as well as one brother and four sisters.
