Obituary

Gorham- Louise M. Johnson, age 92, passed away on Friday, March 13, 2026.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Gorham Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Gorham Fire Company, 4676 Kearney Rd., Stanley, NY 14561, or to, Stanley Hall Gorham Ambulance, P.O. Box 57, Hall, NY 14463, or to, Gorham Free Library, P.O. Box 211, Gorham, NY 14461.

Louise was born on September 8, 1933, a daughter of the late J. Wesley and Lottie (Bowersox) Clarke. She worked many years in the Gorham Post Office filling mail boxes and then worked in the cafeteria at Marcus Whitman School. Louise enjoyed crocheting, bowling, reading and loved her cats.

Louise is survived by her daughters, Glenda (Jon) Sheehe and Judy (Mark) DeVries; grandchildren, Brandon DeVries, Jason (Indy) Sheehe, Charles Sheehe, David Johnson and Chris Johnson; great-grandchildren, Connor and Abigail Sheehe and Aiden Johnson as well as many nieces and nephews.

Louise was predeceased by her parents; her husband James E. Johnson; son, Marvin W. Johnson; grandson, Patrick Johnson; as well as her siblings.

Condolences to the Johnson family. Sharon and I worked with both Louise & Jim at Marcus Whitman while they were there. Jim was part of my staff at the Gorham building, was during this time that he passed. That time hurt us both significantly. Louise’s passing stings us both as much. Good people! Rest in peace….
