Obituary

Hall- Betty A. (Gaylor) Kinney, age 89, passed away February 6, 2026. 

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 10 from 3-6 p.m. at the Perkins-Ames Funeral Home in Gorham. A celebration of Betty’s Life will be held immediately following calling hours from 6-9 p.m. at the Hall Fire Department. Burial will be in Little Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Ontario-Yates Hospice (part of UR Medicine Home Care) online or to 756 Pre-Emption Rd. Geneva, NY 14456; and Hall Fire Company, P.O. Box 83, Hall, NY 14463.

Betty was born May 4, 1936, the daughter of Marion and Earl Gaylor of Wayne, New York.  On September 11, 1945, she married LaVerne Kinney. 

She worked many years as Bookkeeper at Waldo’s and 13 years at Seedway in Hall, New York. She sold Avon for many years while raising 4 children. During dad’s employment at Seedway, they enjoyed many company sponsored trips.  They also spent many years at their cottage on Waneta Lake with friends and family.

She is survived by her children Karen (Alan) Jensen; Donnie (Kristina) Kinney and Patricia Pierson.

She is survived by grandchildren Matthew (Melinda) Jensen; Laura (Julia) Kinney; Sarah (Andy) Mussack; Edward (Tanya) Kinney; Emma (Heath) Lincoln; and Gregory (Sara) Pierson.

She is survived by great grandchildren Alana & Everett Jensen; Anna Beth & Owen Mussack; Lily & Maxwell Lincoln and Aidan & Miles Pierson.

Both Betty and LaVerne will be missed very much by family and friends.  We will all miss the huge family gatherings that were always hosted by Betty and LaVerne.

She is survived by sister Avis Litteer and sister-in-law Sandra Gaylor and many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by husband LaVerne (2020), son James Kinney (2019); son-in-law Martin Pierson; brothers George, Robert and Charles; Brother-in-law Robert Litteer; sisters Barbara Bailey, Lois Santos and Shirley Day.
