Mabel S. Martin

Canandaigua- Mabel S. Martin, age 59, passed away on to her eternal reward on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at her home.

Born on April 4, 1966, she was the daughter of Alma Shirk and the late Elam Shirk of Ephrata, PA. She was a member of Rushville Mennonite Church.

She was the wife of Louis S. Martin, a dairy farmer, with whom she shared over 37 years of marriage. She also owned and operated May Bell’s Flowers with her daughters and granddaughters. Some of her greatest joys were arranging bouquets and singing.

Besides her husband and mother, she is survived by her 8 children, Justin (Carolyn Weaver) of Canandaigua, Jared (Ada Mae Martin) of Canandaigua, Janice (Darvin Weaver) of Stanley, Joyce (Loren Weaver) of Dundee, Judith, Jessica, Jolene and Joshua Louis all at home. Also surviving are 9 siblings, Aaron (Grace) Shirk of Shippensburg, PA, Elam (Elsie) Shirk of Ephrata, PA, Eli (Lucy) Shirk of Ephrata, PA, Ella (Curvin) Weaver of Ephrata, PA, Raymond (Eleanor) Shirk of Penn Yan, Verna (Elmer) Hoover of Alta Vista, IA, Miriam (Ivan) Burkholder of Geneva, Arlene (Jonathan) Zimmerman of Middlesex and Alvin Shirk of Ephrata, PA and her 18 grandchildren.

Besides her father, she was also preceded in death by a son, Jonathan.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, January 6, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at 3827 Mumby Rd. Canandaigua, NY 14424. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, January 7, at 9:30 a.m. at the Rushville Mennonite Church, 3342 Walters Rd., Stanley, NY 14561.
