Jimmy was born on May 3, 1937, a son of the late John A. and Marjorie Keith Gage. Jimmy was a loving husband, father and pop, first and foremost. A dedicated family man who never missed an opportunity to show up for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Our beloved Pop attended all events of grandchildren, always showing support and being proud of each and every one of them. He was the man who carried an inches thick picture wallet with him for years to show off his growing family. He was an enthusiast of many things. He loved sports, especially basketball, where he enjoyed attending Syracuse basketball games, and watching the stock car races at the Land of Legends. He loved building things, his home and his land. He was a book lover of facts and historical events with pictures. Pop enjoyed having friends, meeting people and opportunities to be social. In later years he enjoyed driving his car the “It” down to the pier on many occasions ,and was proud of building the “It” with help from family. He owned and operated Bruce Gage and Son Painting for nearly 55 years. Jimmy lived his life by working hard, valuing all that he had, and protecting and caring for all that he valued.
Jimmy is survived by his wife of 65 years, Barbara Burger Gage; four children, Kim (David) Anderson, Kyle (Margaret) Gage, Kelli Gage and Kandi Gage; eleven grandchildren, Rachael (Jay) Dillon, Matthew (Kristin) Anderson, Rebecca Anderson, Karissa (Cody) Maines, Elise (Matt) Tarlach, Hannah (Stefan) DePierro, Jaymee Gage Flook, Desirae (Matthew) Robarge, Jacob Gage Flook, Steven (Brandi) Drum and Keith (Shayla McClung) Drum; 15 great-grandchildren; a special nephew, Tim (Keri) Lafler; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
