Obituary

Savannah- Joshua Arlie Hill, age 32, passed away on Friday (October 27, 2023) as a result of a motorcycle accident.

A Celebration of Joshua’s Life will be held at a later date.

Joshua was born April 8, 1991 in Hickory, North Carolina. He was a 2009 graduate of Marcus Whitman High School. Joshua drove truck for L.R. Martin Trucking. He loved trucking and riding his motorcycle. He was always tinkering with his “projects”.

Joshua was an “old soul”, with old-fashioned values and traditions. He enjoyed the “real” old country music. He enjoyed smoking tobacco in one of his pipes. He loved Cocker Spaniels, and his Springer Spaniel, Axel. Joshua loved tools, knives, guns and ammo, and was a member of the NRA. He was also a history buff.

Joshua is survived by his life-partner, Courtney Barrows; three children, Kaylee Ray Beth Hill, Greyson Maverick Barrows and Vivian Cynthia Barrows; and his parents, Darrin “Red” and Cindy “Mama” Hill.

He is also survived by three siblings, Darrin “Nick” (Zoe Ellis) Crane, Kylie (Zach Lyons) Hill and Justin (Sami Spofford) Hill; six nieces and nephews, Sadi, Wesley, Paisley, Riley, Donovan and Evangeline; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and his paternal grandmother, Shirley Hill.

Joshua was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Les Hill, and his maternal grandparents, Claude and Joan Carroll.

So sorry for your Loss Red and Cindy and family. It was an honor to get to know Josh Hill and Courtney. We had some good times with Josh he was an amazing person and he could make anyone laugh. Myiah and Josh would push each others buttons but they would laugh and carry on like brother and sister. Courtney and Josh would share there beautiful family with Stu and me and his children.
